Redirect monitoring
A broken redirect is invisible from the outside: the homepage still loads, but a loop, an error, or a dropped HTTPS upgrade quietly costs you visitors and search ranking. Xpiry walks your whole redirect chain and tells you when it breaks.
How the check works
Starting from the bare http:// URL, Xpiry follows each redirect to the final response, recording every hop along the way. It captures:
- › Every URL and status code in the chain
- › Whether it upgrades to HTTPS
- › The final landing URL and status
- › Redirect loops and dead ends
What it catches
Loop
Redirect loops. A chain that never lands — usually a misconfigured www/non-www or http/https rule — is caught and reported instead of hanging a visitor's browser.
Error
Chains that end in failure. When the final hop returns a 4xx or 5xx, you get alerted with the exact start and end of the chain.
No HTTPS
Missing HTTPS upgrade. If http:// no longer ends on https://, it's flagged on the dashboard so you can fix the upgrade before search engines and browsers penalize it.
Safe by design
Every hop is independently validated before we connect, so a redirect can never be used to reach an internal address. Redirect monitoring runs alongside your other checks on the same schedule — just flip it on for any verified domain.
