DNS record monitoring

Your DNS is the front door to everything you run. When a record changes — especially your nameservers — it can mean a planned migration, or it can mean someone has taken over your domain. Xpiry snapshots your records on every check and tells you the moment they move.

Records we track

On each scheduled check, Xpiry resolves and stores a full snapshot of:

  • NS — nameservers (hijack signal)
  • A / AAAA — IPv4 & IPv6 addresses
  • CNAME — canonical aliases
  • MX — mail routing
  • TXT — SPF, DKIM, verification
  • Full before/after diff on every change

Severity that matches the risk

Critical
Nameserver change. The single strongest signal that your domain has been moved or hijacked. Fired immediately on every channel you've configured.
Warning
MX or CNAME change. Mail routing and aliases moving can break email delivery or point traffic somewhere unexpected.
Info
A, AAAA or TXT change. Routine for CDNs and verification records, recorded with a full diff so you have the audit trail without the noise.

No extra setup

Flip on DNS monitoring for any verified domain and it runs alongside your SSL and registration checks on the same schedule. The first snapshot is the baseline — you're only alerted on what changes after that.
